“Why am I getting up so early?” asked Pete as his alarm went off.
Then he remembered. It was Wednesday. He had a pre-office breakfast meeting at Saint Stephen’s to help build faith at work.
Saint Stephen’s, set in the centre of the city, is called to be the ‘working church’.
It offers clear space in a busy day for spirituality and connecting with the greater purpose. This is vital to a person’s energy flow and wellbeing. This in turn benefits better relationships in the workplace and helps build faith at work.
Recently Saint Stephen’s invited a dozen people who work in the tough places – law, banking, media – to engage in an experience that will link Christian wisdom and our shared experience of work.
A central question in this task is ‘what are we creating through our work?’
The first meeting brought together people who have committed themselves to a series of sessions when they will build the trust to share work experience and grasp what we share in the world of work.
There was a sense of excitement and a common agreement that this is important stuff.
Yes, even after getting out of bed earlier to meet at 7.30am in the Cafe!
